Reading: Back to a normal schedule. We will read Justin and the Best Biscuits in the World. Vocab due Thursday and Reading test on Friday
Spelling: Lesson 6: Workbook due Thursday. Test and Menu due on Friday
Religion: Chapter 2: We will finish the chapter next week- Chapter 2 test will most likely be on Wednesday, October 8th
4th LA: Quiz tomorrow on pages 27-28
5th LA: Nouns
4th SS: We will finish reading chapter 4 this week. Our review day will be Monday, October 6th and our test day will be Tuesday, October 7th
5th SS: Our test day for Chapter 3 will be Thursday and Friday of this week. Review day will be on Wednesday. Today and tomorrow we will be reading lesson 3.

Week of September 22
Good Afternoon!
It is the week of IOWA testing. 4th graders should be done with testing by Thursday. Today they all did really great- they took their time, no one rushed to finish, and they sat and checked over their work. So they all deserve a "Great Job" for that behavior and we know they will keep it up! Remember they can bring a snack (extra if they would like), a water bottle, and mints all this week. Also they need to make sure that they are getting a good nights rest and eating a great breakfast.
For those of you who ordered Scholastic Book Order the order shipped over the weekend so we are hoping it comes in this week!
Also NO MORNING MATH HELP on WEDNESDAY for both 4th and 5th.

Spelling: Review Lesson 5. Workbook is due on Thursday and Menu and Test are on/due Friday
Reading: On the Banks of Plum Creek. There will be NO reading test over this story. We are going to read it, work on the skill, and learn about pioneer life.
Religion: Miss Winter's class will take their Chapter 1 Test on Friday. Mrs. Carbone's class is TBA
On Friday we will go back to our normal schedule. On Thursday we will give the students time in class to review science, social studies, language arts, and math so they will be ready for Friday.

Oops!
Miss Winter forgot to hand out her Thursday paper messengers..... I am very sorry they will go home tomorrow :)
Also for math (just to clarify) they need to complete PB 2.2 and the 3rd page of the packet- it is about decimals.
Also there is a Spanish worksheet in their binders, it is due tomorrow.

This week in...
Reading: This week we will be reviewing some of our skills because we take the IOWAs next week. We should have none to very little reading homework. No vocab and no test this week!
Spelling: Lesson 4. Workbook due Thursday, Menu and Test Friday
Religion: Bullying essays and then continue chapter 1
4th LA:Subject, predicate, and skill practice for IOWAs
5th LA: Skill practice for IOWAs
4th SS: Chapter 4- all about the land, water, climate, and resources of the Northeast
5th SS: Chapter 3- Silk Road and Mansa Musa :)

Reading: Kai's Journey to Gold Mountain. We are skipping the Danitra Brown story. Vocab due on Thursday, test on Friday
Spelling: Lesson 3- don't forget about spelling city! Link is on the spelling page for this free site! Workbook due on Thursday, Menu due on Friday, Test on Friday
Religion: We are going to spend the week discussing bullying and how to follow the Greatest Commandment- Today (Monday) we read the book "The One" please ask your child about it!
4th LA: Simple Subject, Simple Predicate, and run-on sentences
5th LA: Simple Subject, Simple Predicate, and run-on sentences
4th SS: We will finish chapter 1 this week. Test will be on THURSDAY. This also means that Vocabulary for Chapter 1 (words on the back of blue study guide) will be due on Thursday.

Week of September 1
Good Morning!
We hope everyone had a nice long weekend! Now it's back to the grind :)
Tonight at 6:30 there is a meeting for anyone interested in Band this year.
This week in...
Reading: Mighty Jackie. Vocab due on Thursday and test will be on Friday. Also the 1st book report is due on Friday. Some students have already turned it in!!
Religion: Continuing Chapter 1. Our first test will be next week Wednesday. Also this week in religion we are going to take some time to discuss bullying and our first writing assignment will be on this topic
Spelling: Lesson 2 workbook due on Thursday, Test Friday
4th LA: Sentence Fragments
5th LA: Combining Sentences
4th SS: Chapter 1 Lesson 2 and 3- Our first test will be sometime next week
5th SS: Chapter 1 continued. I am thinking first test will be on Wednesday and Thursday of next week. We take two days for the 5th grade test because it can be rather lengthy and the questions require more thinking. This way we are not stressed out! Wednesday will be multiple choice and vocab and Thursday will be the short response section.
