CSW: Tuesday!
On Tuesday students will wear their normal uniform to school- including normal socks. Then after mass students will be able to change into their crazy socks and then may wear their crazy hat.
Today was absolutely wonderful! The students looked great in their SJS spirit wear- lots of green! WE had a fun time dancing to songs throughout the day and the teachers were given a wonderful breakfast from Panera! We would also like to thank everyone for the gorgeous flowers and wonderful cards from the students and families- thanks for making our day! :) Our classrooms smell amazing!

Week of January 21st
Happy Thursday 4th Grade Families!
We had such a busy week and one more day to go! The students have been working very hard on writing this week. They finished their typed writing piece about cats with Mrs. Carbone. They also looked at the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and wrote what their dreams are for the future with Miss Winter. Both came out awesome- we have some very talented writers and great ideas! They will be on display for open house which is this SUNDAY at noon!! Next week will be lots of fun but a somewhat different schedule so we will let you know what we will be doing in each subject.
See you on Sunday!

Week of January 7th
Good Morning!
We want to welcome everyone back to school after our break! We hope everyone had a restful and fun times with their families. We will have the all school geography bee this week on Friday afternoon. We had one winner from each fourth grade class and those 2 will represent us- we wish them a lot of luck!
This week in...
Reading: We will read the story The Stranger by Chris Van Allsburg. He writes such great fantasy stories and we will take a look at his other stories and see if we can find a common theme.
Langauge Arts: The students will begin a writing piece on cats. They will be using different research techniques to gather information.
Social Studies: We are in the middle of Chapter 5 and will have a quiz over lesson 2 on Wednesday. A test should be coming up soon- possibly the end of next week!
Math: The students are continuing their mulitiplication and multilpying big numbers with zeros. Practice, Practice, PRACTICE (did we say practice?) FACTS!!! :)
Science: They are learning about closed and open circuits- so lots of light switching on and off in the science classroom this week! Students can stay ahead by studying science vocabulary!
Spelling: Lesson 17
Religion: We are looking at ways that Jesus treated humans with dignity and how we can do the same. We are also going to "ring" in the New Year by making some goals and resolutions!
Enjoy your week!
