Happy Monday!
This week is our last week of October and then hello November! We can't believe that November is already here!
On Wednesday (HALLOWEEN!!) the students may have an out of uniform day (no costumes for 4th grade)!! However you must have jeans on- no swishy pants, sweats, leggings, jeggings, or yogas. Or, of course, you may always wear your uniform. We also think that a skirt/dress wouldn't be a great idea because of our AWESOME Halloween party and games that we have in the afternoon! You may wear any school appropriate shirt you would like :)
We will attend mass on Thursday this week instead of Tuesday (All Saints Day)
Also a congratulations is in order for the WONDERFUL timelines that were presented in social studies today! Wow! Impressive!!
This week in…..
Reading: We will read Emerald’s Eggs (we skipped ahead because of timing). This is a reader’s theater all about sea turtles. We will watch a great short video all about these cute little guys.
Spelling: Lesson 11
Religion: This week we watched an animated film on The Ten Commandments. We will finish it up tomorrow- it seems like everyone is enjoying it!
Social Studies: Election week is upon us! The students will be learning about how the election works. We should be able to have great conversations at home about it and be prepared to pick our candidate after we learn about where each candidate stands on the big issues. The students are also getting ready to play Electoral College Monopoly on Monday!
Science: In science the students started their unit on Force and Motion
Math: The students are learning about elapsed time, calendar, mean, median, mode, and some different ways to graph. Tentatively there is a quiz scheduled for Friday.
Language Arts: The students are finishing up the writing pieces on Road Runners!
Have a great week! Happy Halloween!!

Out of Uniform Top Day!!
Good Morning!
This Friday, October 26 students may participate in Dollar Day brought to them by the student council! There was a form in the e-messenger but the students willl be bringing a form home tonight as well. They can earn a dollar from their parents for family service and then bring that dollar along with their form ASAP to us and enjoy an out of uniform college or sports top day! The form explains everything so look for it tonight!
All proceeds benefit The Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation- what a great cause!
Enjoy your Tuesday!

How It's Made!
Today fourth graders learned more about the Industrial Revolution in Social Studies. We watched a few How It's Made videos to show assembly lines and how technology has shaped our world.
How It's Made is a show on the Discovery Channel and they have a great website with video clips from the show that are free to watch. Some students were asking for the link because they would like to watch more videos!
